The manufacture of iconic DEWALT power tools from customer Stanley Black & Decker was the star of “Modern Marvels: Machines” on The HISTORY Channel in August, 2021.
“What a humbling experience to see our signature black and yellow tools highlighted on The HISTORY Channel,” said Stanley Black & Decker CEO Jim Loree. “We hope viewers enjoyed getting to see a behind-the-scenes look at how we make the world’s best power tools.”
In the Modern Marvels episode, host Adam Richman visited the company’s Fort Mill, South Carolina manufacturing facility to get an inside look at production. The exploration included drone footage of two Mars II S 9000 (1,012 U.S. tons) molding machines and a BW15 robot using cutting edge technology to mold cases for DEWALT drills – in a facility where a power tool comes off the production line every 30 seconds.
“It was pretty cool to watch the television crew film the very MA machines I helped assemble and train Stanley Black and Decker employees to put into production,” said Shawn Caplette, field service technician who was on site for the HISTORY Channel filming. “Recently, I helped Stanley Black and Decker install a JU III 14000 (1,574 U.S. tons) with a CW15 robot along with a second injection unit for one of the Mars machines, converting it into a multi-shot machine. We’re proud to be associated with such iconic American-made tools.
